Vegetable Standards
Certification Framework
Every vegetable sold through YUK is classified under one of three certified growing standards, governed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Organic Vegetables
Quality, safety, and hygiene for consumers without harming human health or the environment. Uses existing natural resources such as green plants, animal manure, and prohibits the use of chemicals and hormones.
- No synthetic chemicals, pesticides, or growth hormones.
- Certified under national and international organic standards.
- Uses only natural inputs: compost, manure, and medicinal plants.
Safety Vegetable(GAP)
Grown at large or small scale with chemicals and pesticides used at technically correct levels, certified by the Ministry of Agriculture's GAP standards.
- Controlled fertilizer and pesticide use under strict standards.
- Ministry of Agriculture GAP certification required.
- Regular inspections and laboratory residue testing.
Natural Vegetables
Farmers grow around their homes or naturally without using fertilizer or pesticides.
- Grown naturally around communities without chemical inputs.
- Traditional, low-intervention cultivation methods.
- Delivered fresh from registered partner farms.
YUK Identification Codes
Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is a certification system for agriculture that establishes specific procedures and documentation requirements. These standards are implemented to ensure that food produced for consumers or further processing is safe, wholesome, and created using sustainable methods. While there are various competing definitions of what constitutes "Good Agricultural Practice," several widely accepted schemes exist that producers can adhere to.

Includes vegetables grown by independent farmers, natural local produce, or items imported from abroad using standard farming methods.

6 — Safe Vegetables (YUK Standards)
Refers to "Safe Vegetables" that are cultivated specifically according to YUK (standardized safety) technical guidelines.
- 8
8 — Organic Vegetables
Represents premium organic produce that requires significant cultivation time, strict systematic monitoring, and typically carries a higher market value.
